Regional Mental Wellness Connector

(Full Time – Term Position)

As part of the Dehcho First Nations (DFN) Health & Wellness Division, the Regional Mental Wellness Connector delivers a program aimed at improving Dehcho members’ access to emotional and mental wellness support services. A key member of the services access team, the Regional Mental Wellness Connector supports Dehcho First Nations (DFN) members with their emotional and mental health and wellness, especially those in crisis, and/or impacted by residential school. The position supports developing innovative approaches to health and wellness, helping Dehcho residents access the programs and services they need.

Qualifications

1. Post-secondary diploma in a health-related field, OR equivalent combination of education, training and experience
2. Two years’ experience in health and wellness service or project delivery
3. Understanding of health and wellness services and programs
4. Practical experience applying crisis intervention, post-traumatic stress, conflict resolution, vicarious trauma, and self-care techniques
5. Ability to build relationships with Dehcho members and service providers
6. Functional day to day writing skills
7. Knowledge and experience of the use and application of computer software such as Microsft 360
8. Experience in representing an Indigenous Organization with multiple stakeholders: including Dehcho communities, universities, contractors, government
9. Understands anti-racist approaches, community development theories, and culturallybased wellness programs
10. Ability to communicate in Dene Zhatie an asset
