Regional Health & Wellness Services Connector

(Full Time – Term Position)

Under the direction of the Regional Health & Wellness Director, the Health & Wellness Services Connector delivers the Services Access Program aimed at improving Dehcho members’ access to existing health and wellness services. A key member of the services access team, the Services Connector supports Dehcho First Nations (DFN) members with advocacy and access to health and wellness services. The position supports developing innovative approaches to health and wellness, helping Dehcho residents access the services they need.

Qualifications:

1. Post-secondary diploma in a health-related field, OR equivalent combination of education, training and experience
2. Two years’ experience in health and wellness service or project delivery
3. Understanding of NWT health and wellness services and programs
4. Ability to build relationships with Dehcho members and service providers
5. Functional day to day writing skills
6. Knowledge and experience of the use and application of computer software such as MS Word, Excel, and Power Point
7. Expertise in representing the organization and the division with multiple stakeholders: including Dehcho communities, universities, contractors, government
8. Understands anti-racist approaches, community development theories, and culturallybased wellness programs
9. Ability to communicate in Dene Zhatie an asset
