Rita Cli Appointment
The Dehcho First Nations Mackenzie Gas Project Steering Committee was formulated in November 2007 to develop a plan to mitigate and manage the socio-economic impacts of the proposed Mackenzie Gas Project.
Fred Norwegian of Jean Marie River has served as the Chair of this committee since its inception. Recently Mr. Norwegian has determined that he can no longer serve as committee chair . Mr Norwegian would like to concentrate his efforts on community development as he is serving the community as interim Band Manager.
The committee has appointed by consensus Ms. Rita Cli as the Chair of the Committee. Rita Cli is the former Chief of Liiidli Kue First Nations and an active member of the community. Rita Cli has served on the MGPIF Committee since it inception. Rita continues to work tirelessly on behalf of the Liidli Kue First Nations and Dehcho First Nations to build a better future for the people of the region collectively.
Grand Chief Gerald Antoine welcomes Rita Cli as Chair of the committee and looks forward to assisting her in moving forward on the continued development of the Regional Investment Plan.
