Dehcho First Nations Reorganize Negotiating Team

The Dehcho First Nations Leadership have restructured their negotiating team as they head into the final phase of negotiations on an Agreement-in-Principle (AiP) on lands and governance.

The DFN have been negotiating with Canada since 1999, but negotiations were slow or paused for the past two years as the federal and territorial governments held elections in 2015, and then DFN Chief Negotiator Georges Erasmus retired in September, 2015. The process of replacing Georges took longer than expected.
